Your first appointment is 50 minutes and focuses on getting to know you and understanding what brings you in. I will complete a comprehensive mental health evaluation, which includes discussing your current concerns, medical and mental health history, past treatment experiences, and what you hope to change or improve. We will also talk about your goals so that we have a shared understanding of what you want from treatment.
From there, we will work together to develop a collaborative plan that may include therapy, medication, lifestyle strategies, or a combination. I will review treatment options with you, answer questions, and make sure you feel informed and comfortable with each step. This first session is also a chance for us to get to know one another and begin building a supportive, trusting therapeutic relationship.
